Family owned. Australian operated.
Family founded in 1991, BMI Group has grown to become a market-leading post-collection recycling and waste management operator in the SEQ region. For over 30 years, we’ve operated a strategic network of pioneering waste centres encompassing transfer stations, resource recovery facilities and managed landfills. Our locations include Acacia Ridge, Hendra, Mt Gravatt East, Larapinta, Stapylton and Redbank Plains with Austin Street New Chum, being our seventh opening in 2026.
BMI remains committed to providing sustainable practices, industry-leading solutions and consistent improvements in recycling rates, all while supporting a steady transition to the evolving circular economy. Our recycling capabilities now position the company as an industry innovator readily capable of adapting and benefitting dynamic social, economic and environmental landscapes. Across the group, we’re forecast to process circa 1.8 million tonnes of waste in FY2023, covering more than ten key waste product categories. Current performance of our facilities has us on track to recover and recycle more than 80% of processed construction and demolition waste by the end of the financial year in 2024.
Our revolutionary resource recovery facilities focus on separating soil, concrete, timber and steel from the waste stream to minimise landfill deposits and maximise recyclables. From this waste, we offer a broad range of quality recycled concrete, mulch, sand and soil products for use in the building, landscaping and civil construction industries, available for pick up or delivered from select sites.
Reliably servicing a diverse customer base of local councils and private sector clients, we look forward to providing a world-class Ipswich Recycling Park for the Ipswich region to support a cleaner recycling future.
